I saw this vehicle parked in front of LA motion capture facility, House of Moves. This really shows the lengths a VFX freak will go through satisfy their obsessive compulsive itch. Check the details, my favorite being the steering yoke. Wait, maybe it’s the translucent Obi Wan on the dash.

Even some of the parts are scavenged Star Wars bits. I see pieces from Darth Maul’s Probe druid toy (including the shooting discs), random lightsabers, the base to a C-3PO action figure I think, side wings to fighter droid, there’s a dremel housing, and a bit from the spaceship from Lost In Space. Nice work!

Actually, I’m pretty sure that the car is a Honda Civic Del Sol. You can tell by the air-conditioner in the close up pictures on the road squadron website. also, only the top portion of the car is removable, where as the Miata is a convertable.

Sorry, the vehicle is not a Mazda. It is a Honda Del-Sol. There is no Mazda with a long decklid, nearly vertical rear window, and removable roof like this. It is definitely a Honda. I almost bought one.

Not to disagree, but I have to disagree. It’s an early 90′s Honda Civic Del Sol. The Miata doesn’t have the same type of roll bar and is curvier. Plus, you can see how the front bumper, headlights, and taillights are extremely reminiscent of the early 90′s Civic coupes and sedans.
My ex had one, but it was nowhere near as cool as this one!
